Nice family house in the Great-Reykjavík area
Our house is the perfect family home, the surroundings are beautiful and the neighborhood nice and quiet. The house is on three floors, basement with one bedroom with a tiny toilet and a laundry room, main floor with the kitchen, guest bathroom and living room and the second floor with the master bedroom, two adjacent kids rooms and a bathroom with a shower and a bath.
The master bedroom has a 180 cm bed, the basement room has 160 cm bed and both kids rooms have a 80 cm beds that can be pulled out and doubled up to 160 cm bed.
The house is cozy and you will have access to everything your family might need - except for a microwave. Ours broke and we never found the need for a new one..
From the living room is an entrance door to the garden where you’ll find some beautiful trees, and a small lawn, a bbq, a trampoline and some toys for the kids and also greenhouse, some herbs and berries. in summertime that is.
There is loads of free parking space in front of the house.

The house outlooks a small creek, where you can even fish if you want to - or admire the swans and ducks that have built their home there. Kids love to go there and feed the birds bread every now and then.
There are walking paths in both directions and playgrounds either way, only 3-5 min walk. There is also beautiful old lava nature spot across from the playground if you walk to the right from the house.
Downtown Hafnarfjörður is only a 10-15 min walk away a, and Fjörukráin, the Wiking willage is also about 10-15 min walk. There is a great outdoors swimming pool close by called Suðurbæjarlaug with hot and cold tubs, sauna, steamroom and kids areas and two waterslides, plus one for the tiny ones ;)
The great lava nature is close to Hafnarfjörður, as it is built in the middle of a very old lava pool. Lot of walking paths run from Hafnarfjörður, great mountains and hills you can climb and quite a few caves you can explore. Hvaleyrarvatn is also close by, maybe 10 min by car - it is a wonderful small lake, paradise for kids in summer and nice for walks as well. But you might need a car to get to these spots :)
There are bus stops 2 and 3 min away and one of the buses (nr. 1) takes you straight downtown Reykjavík, might take around 30 min depending on traffic.
Mid november each year Hafnarfjörður creates an extraordinary christmas wibe - the Christmas Willage, it is not to be missed!

About Our Family
We are a family of five; mom, dad, the teenager who hardly lives at home, the six and the five year old kiddos who came along later😅 We are respectful and easy going, friendly and down to earth people 😊🌏
We love to travel and get to know new cultures and countries and local food! We usually don´t seek out the tourist crowded places but rather enjoy new surroundings, food, playgrounds and relaxing spots on our journeys.
Our kids are allergic to cats and dogs (varying degrees depending on type) so we prefer staying in apartments and houses where there are no pets, at least not cats or dogs.
