House in Richmond, USA
Our 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath home is located in suburban Richmond VA. The house is comfortable and we have a good sized yard and deck, in a friendly, established neighborhood.
Richmond offers lots to do, with wonderful museums, restaurants, shopping, and parks. Some of our favorite things in town are:
Virginia Museum of Fine Arts- VMFA was remodeled a couple of years ago and it went from a really good museum to a world class museum. http://www.vmfa.state.va.us/Default.aspx
Carytown- Electic shopping and eating. It is really one of a kind. http://www.carytownrva.com/
Maymont- A former estate that was donated to the city and has acres of park, a museum, and a petting barn, a nature center, and a Japanese garden. http://www.maymont.org/
Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden- It’s beautiful. http://www.lewisginter.org/
If history is your thing, there’s the American Civil War Center, the Museum of the Confederacy, the Poe Museum, the Valentine, the Virginia Museum of History & Culture, and Civil War and Revolutionary War battlefields and sites within an easy drive.
The University of Richmond and Virginia Commonwealth University are both in Richmond and both offer music, sports, classes, and a variety of activities, not to mention two very distinctive campuses.
The arts scene is vibrant with everything from the Richmond Symphony to multiple theater groups to opera to jazz and just about anything else you can think of in all sorts of venues, both indoors and outdoors.
Outdoor activities are everywhere. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g60893-Activities-c61-Richmond_Virginia.html We love Belle Isle ourselves, and we have gone white water rafting here on the James.
Short Pump Town Center- if you crave tons of shopping http://www.shortpumpmall.com/
We're also just a two hour drive to Washington DC, one hour to Williamsburg, 2 hours to Virginia Beach, one and a half hours to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Skyline Drive, and one hour to Charlottesville and Monticello.
