Big flat in the heart of Reykjavik - great location
We are a family of five and we like to visit new exciting places as well as greeting guests to our home in Reykjavík. Therefore home exchange is the ideal method of travelling for us.
Our home is located in the heart of Reykjavík, just west of the city center in a friendly and popular neighborhood. The commercial center with museums, galleries, restaurants, swimming pool (thermal bath) and shops are all within a walking distance (approx 10mn).
The apartment is on the 2nd and 3rd floor of a three apartment house in a quiet but centrally located neighborhood. 175 squaremeters and very well organized and well equipped apartment with all modern amenities (Wifi, Apple TV, Netflix) which would comfortably suit a family of 7-9 people. The apartment consists of:
- Bedroom #1 has a king size bed (180x200) and an extra side bed (90x200)
- Bedroom #2 has 2 beds: 1) a bed suitable for all ages (90x200) and 2) an extra foldable bed (90x200) attached
- Bedroom #3 has 1 bed; 90x200cm.
- Bedroom #4 has 1 bed; 90x200cm
- Bedroom #5 has a foldable couch which can be turned into a bed; 140x200cm.
- Spacious living room with a couch, flatscreen TV and a good family table for meals
- Two modern bathrooms with a shower room and a washing machine/dryer in one of them
- Modern and well equipped kitchen
We are open for a car exchange if wished for. Extra bed/mattresses can be provided if wished for. If there are any special requests we are more than happy to try to comply with our guests needs.
Our car is a spacious and reliable Mitsubishi Outlander which we are willing to exchange also. With seats for 5-7 people (extra seats) and child seat/seats if wished for.
We also have bikes and scooters for both grown-ups and children which can be used by our guests.
It’s our ambition to make our guests comfortable and welcome and we can provide good information of interesting sights, excursions and recommendations regarding culture, restaurants, shops, etc.
Exchanges with other families with young children is especially suitable for us but of course we'll look into everything. We're experienced travelers and exchangers. Naturally we have all usual equipment around the house for young kids (cots, chairs etc.)

The Apartment is very comfortable, spacious and well equipped. The option of using their car also gave us some incredibly wonderful moments. We had a great time! Halladór and Matthea were very helpful as it was our first exchange on intervac.
This was our first exchange and Halidor was so helpful in walking us through the process. Their apartment was in a perfect location close to everything and at the same time in a quiet area. Looking forward to future exchanges.
Todo correcto, muy amables con el intercambio de coche depositandolo a nuestra llegada en el aeropuerto. La casa tal como la reflejan en las fotos, muy comoda y muy bien situada. Recomendable destino.
