Family house in Christchurch, England near river, historic town and sandy beach
4 bedroom house in historic Christchurch, a delightful town on the south coast of England surrounded by beautiful countryside and coastline. Easy walking to town centre and river, with restaurants, cafes, bookshop, golf course, swimming pool, 900 year old Priory church and small theatre/cinema. Easy cycling to safe, clean and sandy beaches.
Our family home is situated on a private road overlooking school fields, with off road parking. Recently modernised kitchen and bathroom. Free fast fibre wifi. Large private garden with full size table tennis.
The popular holiday resort of Bournemouth, the New Forest National Park and the Jurassic coastline are a short car or bus ride away. Stonehenge, Thomas Hardy's Dorset, Highclere Castle (the setting for Downton Abbey) and Corfe Castle (setting for Enid Bylton's Kirrin Castle) are all within an hour's drive. Some families have even travelled to Warner Bros. studios for the 'Making of Harry Potter Experience' (2 hour car journey).
In Christchurch there is a train station, which you can easily walk to from our house, to catch the regular direct train to London (2 hours), where you will arrive at Waterloo station. This is a few minutes walk to the London Eye and Big Ben. By train, you can also travel to Weymouth travelling West or travel East to see historic Portsmouth docks or Winchester, a beautiful cathedral city.

About the neighborhood
We live in the picturesque South coast town of Christchurch. Walk to historic Christchurch centre and explore the 900 year old Priory church. Sit by the river, eating or drinking at one of the many restaurants and coffee shops. Hire a kayak or rowing boat.
A short cycle (10 minute) or drive will get you to beautiful sandy & family friendly beaches with easy swimming.
A 20 minute car/bus journey will take you into the bustling centre of Bournemouth, a popular seaside town with lots of language schools. A 20 minute car/bus journey in the other direction takes you into the peaceful New Forest National Park, a nature reserve dedicated to horse riding, treking and cycling.
A 5 minute walk from our house is the train station with a direct train service to London every 30 minutes.

We had a lovely exchange. The house was warm and comfortable and the location good for visiting many places nearby such as the New Forest, Corfe Castle, Bournemouth. We'd definitely swap again in the future.

Active family, enjoying outdoor life and also reading and coffee.
We are a family of 4. Paul (headteacher, 51) and Christine (primary school teacher, 50). Our 2 girls often still join us on our house exchange adventures. Hannah (pastoral assistant, 24) and Esther University student, 21).
We are also have 2 cats called Toffee and Fudge to keep you company!
