for hiking and biking: there are various National parks within 1h drive (NP Hohe Tauern, incl. the famous Großglockner Hochalpenstrasse, NP Kalkalpen, NP Gesäuse), legendary Grundelsee, the wounderful mountains of the "NaturPark Söllktäler" or the Schladminger Tauern are just close by - don't miss out lake "Steirischer Bodensee"

for famous cities: Salzburg is about 1h drive, Vienna and Munich are about 2.5h drive, Graz (EU cultural capital and UNESCO world heritage) is about 1.5h drive, Bad Ischl (summer village of Habsburg Emperors) is about 1h drive

for culture: Monastery Admond (largest library in any monastery worldwide) and the ancient salt mines incl. a museum of Bad Aussee/Altaussee are about 45min drive, Hallstadt (UNESCO world heritage) and the iron mine in Eisenerz (www.abenteuer-erzberg.at) are about 1h drive
